The Retroactive Journal of Dylan Kulcher

This was a fun project I had completed for my Journalism Capstone Project. It is an interactive flipbook with a read-through of my journaling that accompanies my photojournal or photo essay of my earliest years in Toronto. It catalogues my challenges moving on my own, to my eleventh hour start to university where I miraculously got through the first semester. Then I ended up stuck in East Toronto during COVID lockdown. Learned a lot about photojournaling through this and felt it was something I needed to do with what I divulge being only a mere glimpse into what were some truly horrific days. But it has a happy ending in that I’m able to look back on it now and remember the good parts.

If there are any techincal hitches please let me know this is my first time using this program and while it has some good features there was a number of things I had to keep going back and updating to show up. All the pictures should be clickable and this is an experiment to see if it’s viable to make more advanced multimedia projects this way.

Thanks, Dylan K
